Bosheng Medical Wins Third Prize in 2024 Science and Technology Progress Award of China General Chamber of Commerce
The winners of the 2024 Science and Technology Progress Award of the China General Chamber of Commerce have recently been announced. The project Key Technologies and Industrialization of Multi-layer Co-extruded Single-use System Biomedical Film, jointly submitted by Jiangsu Bosheng Medical New Materials Co., Ltd. and Jiangsu University of Science and Technology, was awarded third prize.
Over the past two years, Bosheng Medical has focused on market frontiers, following its new product development approach of “increasing variety, improving capability, enhancing quality and efficiency.” The company has strengthened industry-university-research collaboration, deepened the integration of production and education with scientific research, and carried out foundational, innovative, and forward-looking research in areas such as rubber stoppers, co-extruded films, and advanced pharmaceutical packaging materials. These efforts have advanced product development and technological upgrades, significantly enhancing the company’s independent innovation capabilities and leading to a steady stream of new innovations.
“In the research on key technologies for multi-layer co-extruded single-use film systems, we used molecular design and reactive blending modification to continuously optimize processes and material formulations. We successfully achieved domestic bio-film products with performance meeting or exceeding that of imported counterparts, providing reliable technical support and film materials for large-scale single-use bioreactor systems,” said the project lead. As a key new product launched in the past two years, the bio-film has now received three invention patents, won the “Top Ten Invention Products of Taizhou City” and the “Quality Technology Third Prize of the China Quality Association,” and was included in the “Taizhou City Key Technology Support Project” list. It has also been recognized by the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology as a “New Product and New Technology of Jiangsu Province.” The product has been widely used by several biopharmaceutical companies, with positive results.
“Going forward, Bosheng Medical will continue to accelerate technological advancement and build bio-film into a flagship product,” a company representative said. The bio-film production workshop, which uses multi-layer co-extrusion technology, has integrated the MES system with the industry chain collaboration platform, enabling cross-departmental coordination and integrated management. It has been successfully recognized as a Jiangsu Provincial Intelligent Manufacturing Workshop, improving production efficiency, product quality, and safety—creating favorable conditions for expanding the product’s market presence.
The Science and Technology Progress Award of the China General Chamber of Commerce is an authoritative award approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology and the National Office for Science and Technology Awards. It recognizes individuals and organizations that have made outstanding contributions to scientific research, technological innovation, technology promotion, and high-tech industrialization in China’s commercial sector.
